Federal health officials are requesting consumers to check their eyedrops brands immediately following a nationwide recall of over 3.1 million bottles of eye drops sold under major retail brands.

The affected brands are CVS, Walgreens, and Kroger.

On March 31, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that Pomona-based K.C. Pharmaceuticals voluntarily recalled 3,111,072 bottles citing a “lack of assurance of sterility.”

While there’s no confirmed contamination, the company can’t assure that its manufacturing process prevented the introduction of infection-causing microbes.

The recall spans 26 labels, including store brands sold at:

Pharmacy chains

  • CVS Health
  • Walgreens
  • Rite Aid

Grocery stores

  • Kroger
  • H-E-B
  • Publix
  • Meijer
  • Harris Teeter
