PESHAWAR: Malik Saad Memorial National Junior Squash Championship has begun here at the PAF Hashim Khan Complex Saturday and 64 players from all over the country are taking part in the event.
In the opening match of the under-17 event, Bilal Zakir of Pakistan Air Force made an upset defeating top-seed Faraz Khan 11-3, 11-6 and 11-5.
Saeed Shahid of Sindh beat Safiullah of Balochistan 11-8, 11-6 and 13-11 while Ali Bukhari of Punjab thrashed Faheem Gul of Khyberpakhtunkhwa ( 11-7, 11-4 and 11-3.
In the main round, Mahmood Mahboob of Khyberpakhtunkhwa defeated Arsalan Khan 11-8, 11-7 and 11-7.
Mohammad Farhan, Nauman Shahid, Aadil Faqir and Abbas Shaukat also won their matches. |
