Why did Kim Kardashian choose a Christmas card with her kids in 2019?

Kim Kardashian's Christmas card for this year has become the talk of town as it features her entire family with all three kids present without the rest of the extended clan. 

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star recently opened up about her 2019 Christmas card. During an episode the star revealed that this year, her family's Christmas card will not include the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.

Christmas cards have always remained a family tradition for the family, however, this year Kim decided to take a new approach due to a number of issues, ranging from the family drama to Kanye's preference for simple attire. 

According to a source close to PEOPLE, “It’s been difficult for them for years to get everyone together for a Christmas card.” 

“Last year when Kim organized it, there was a lot of complaining. It really stressed her out. She was over the drama and decided to do one for just her family this year,” she said. 

The source added, “She knew fans wanted to see her whole family together, so it was important for her to share a special photo,”

Another reason for the simplistic and minimal photo was due to Kanye's preferences, the source stated, “The photo was taken at their house and it was just a relaxed event,” the source adds. “No one was stressed, the kids were happy and it was perfect. Kanye is not a fan of glitz so this is why they are dressed casually.“

After initially stating that the family might not be able to make a Christmas card this year, Kim revealed that in spite of the drama, the family were ultimately able to make something work. 

The scheduling issues arose due to Kourtney not being able to make time for family focused adventures, Kim criticized her sister over the issues, saying she was "the least exciting to look at."

Kim tweeted, “This year we waited until the last minute to do a card. Schedules we’re changing, my husband [Kanye West] was in and out of town.”
