Trisha Yearwood is set to take the stage of the CMT Music Awards to be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

According to The Economic Times, the 59-year-old singer would be receiving the June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award to honour her work with several charities as well as her effort preserve the legacy of country music.

She is one of the very few musicians who have managed to garner a rather prominent position as a philanthropist through her dedication for human right causes.

This would also be the first time Yearwood would be appearing on the CMT stage since 2019.

The three-time Grammy Award winner would be performing her song, Put It In A Song, the first track to be released from her newest upcoming album.

CMT has introduced the June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award to recognize efforts of an individual or group towards humane goals to make the world a better place.

Trisha Yearwood would be the first-ever recipient of the award, a nod to the five-time Grammy award-winning country singer and second wife of Johnny Cash.
