Amid the growing wildfires in Los Angeles, Jean Smart, a veteran actress and a Golden Globe winner, has a message for TV networks: donate to victims and firefighters and cancel the telecast of upcoming award shows.

The Hacks star shared her plea on Instagram, writing, “Attention! With ALL due respect, during Hollywood’s season of celebration, I hope any of the networks televising the upcoming awards will seriously consider NOT televising them and donating the revenue they would have garnered to victims of the fires and the firefighters.”

Apart from her plea, the wildfires have disturbed the scheduled ceremonies for the award season.

For example, SAG shared the nominees via press release after cancelling the live nominations announcement.

The Academy Awards meanwhile pushed the voting to Jan. 12. Last but not least, the Critics Choice Awards ceremony has also been shifted to Jan. 26.

CNN reported these fires have been the deadliest in L.A. history as tens of thousands fled and at least five people have died.
