Angela Bassett has confessed she is not ready to bid farewell to Bobby Nash, played by Peter Krause in 9-1-1.

For the unversed, Nash, one of the beloved characters in 9-1-1, sacrificed himself in the April 17 episode.

Weeks after the tragedy, the 66-year-old American actress, who plays Sgt. Athena Grant-Nash and Nash’s wife on the show, opened up to PEOPLE magazine at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday, May 5, and admitted that she is still in shock and has not accepted the loss.

Bassett said, “I'm in mourning. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. It wasn't my choice. I don't know.”

Then she went on to share a message with mourning fans by quipping, “Keep hope alive. Maybe he'll return in my dreams, you know, my memories.”

Notably, Bassett and Krause started playing their respective characters Grant-Nash and Nash since the debut of the show in 2018.

It is pertinent to mention that they tied the knot in season 2 and since they found out what would happen to Nash, Angela Bassett said it was “inconceivable,” and we both "just looked at each other."
