Goldie Hawn has finally revealed that she once blocked her daughter Kate Hudson from a teenage role.

During a special screening of 1974's The Sugarland Express at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 29, the 79-year-old American actress and film producer opened up about how she raised her children while being in the entertainment industry.

Hawn revealed that she did not let Hudson step into the world of acting when she was in school despite her interest in it.

The Oscar winner said, “I didn't call an agent and ask them to be represented. I never did that.”

“In fact, they wanted Katie for some show, and she was still in high school. And I didn't let her do it because I didn't want her at that age, I wanted her to live a normal life, finish school, at which point you figure that out, but don't start too soon,” she added.

Hawn, who is also mother to Oliver Hudson and Wyatt Russell with long-time love Kurt Russell, admitted that she is proud of her children’s achievements in life.

“What feels good is that they're amazing human beings. They happen to be talented... They're great humans, all of them. And all my grandchildren — now I have eight — and they're great humans,” she stated.
