Taylor Swift is willing to go as far as dedicating a tattoo to Shamrock Capital after her recent career milestone.
The Grammy-winning singer, 35, addressed her feelings in a letter shared on her official website, giving the private equity company a major shoutout.
"I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: All of the music I've ever made ... now belongs ... to me," she said, referring to her recent nearly $360 million purchase six years after losing control of her master recordings.
"All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased songs. The memories. The magic. The madness. Every single era. My entire life's work," the singer elaborated.
Swift then expressed her appreciation for Shamrock Capital, which purchased her music from Braun in 2020, for handling the move in an "honest, fair and respectful" way.
She jokingly added, "My first tattoo might just be a huge shamrock in the middle of my forehead."
A source close to contract negotiations told the press that the purchase is the result of hard work from Swift’s team and rubbished recent reports that it was Swift's longtime nemesis Scooter Braun who encouraged Shamrock to make the deal.
“Contrary to a previous false report, there was no outside party who ‘encouraged’ this sale. All rightful credit for this opportunity should go to the partners at Shamrock Capital and Taylor’s Nashville-based management team only,” the source told People Magazine.
Braun got control of Swift's first six albums when his company Ithaca Holdings acquired Scott Borchetta's Big Machine Records, who signed Swift in 2005.
The artist subsequently re-recorded those projects as a way to regain ownership of her music.
