Meghan Markle dropped a video of herself dancing and twerking in the maternity ward before Princess Lilibet's birthday.
The video sparked intense criticism with people calling 'cringe,' 'awful,' or 'bizarre.'
However, a midwife came to support the Duchess of Sussex, suggesting that dancing and moving is very common and advised for women in labour.
Taking to X (Formerly Twitter), the user @mdwfmom responded to a video of Meghan's dance, “I'm a midwife - this is not cringe at all. It's excellent to progress labour for multiple reasons.”
But another user pointed out, “Why isn't the IV in her arm connected to the bag?” to which the midwife explained, “It's called a saline lock. Very common. She doesn't need fluids running because she's in early labour and doesn't have an epidural.”
Notably, a user also asked the healthcare worker, “As a midwife... does that look like a normal baby bump to you?”
“It looks like a baby bump with a wireless monitor on it. Very common... so, yeah,” the midwife replied, also sharing a screenshot of wireless contraction monitor and stating, “No, this is a wireless contraction monitor and a fetal heart rate monitor. You will notice that an ACTUAL pregnancy simulation belt would have been smoother, so the bumps from the monitors actually give more credence to this being a real labor.”
For those unaware, Meghan Markle posted the video on her Instagram handle to mark her daughter Princess Lilibet's 4th birthday.
Prince Harry and Meghan are parents of two children: Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
