Brad Pitt opened up about his longtime dream of working in a racing move ahead of release of his highly anticipated sports drama, F1 – The Movie.
The Fight Club alum revealed that it was a “dream come true” for him to work in a racing move, noting that making a racing film had been on his mind for decades.
He also spoke of his desire to work with director Joseph Kosinski, who had the idea to film during the actual F1 season and put the actors inside real cars.
The Hollywood heartthrob discussed the upcoming movie, which also stars Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon and Tobias Menzies in key roles, during a global press conference in Mexico City.
He said, "For me, it was just a no-brainer when [Joseph Kosinski] had this audacious plan to embed us in the racing season, to put us actually in the cars.”
“It was just a dream come true," added Pitt, before continuing, "I've been trying to do a racing film for literally decades.”
"And whether it was on bikes or whether it was in cars, for whatever reason, it just didn't pan out.
“I'm so grateful because the experience Joe gave us, putting us in the car, putting us in this ecosystem of the F1 racing season, with all the drivers, with the teams, was just an extraordinary experience."
Even though Pitt has worked on action-packed films before, he said working for F1 was "nothing like I've ever experienced in all my decades doing this."
The movie will hit the theatres on June 27.
