Romeo Beckham is seemingly warning fans against "spreading unnecessary lies" amid online speculations about his family.

The footballer, 22, recently posted a snap of a scene from the iconic 1953 film Roman Holiday, where Audrey Hepburn's character utters the line, "What the world needs is a return to sweetness and decency."

He then captioned the post, "Be nice to people and don't spread unnecessary lies."

Romeo's post follows his ex-girlfriend Kim Turnbull's reaction to accusations that she was romantically involved with Brooklyn, 26, and that she was responsible for the rift between the brothers.

"I've avoided speaking on this topic to prevent adding fuel to the fire, however it's come to a point where I feel the need to address it so I can move on," Turnbull began in a statement posted on Instagram this Monday.

"I will not continue to receive harassment or be embarrassed on the basis of lies, to fit a certain narrative," she added before setting the record straight on rumours that she was previously romantically-involved with Romeo's elder brother Brooklyn.

"I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question. Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16. I would like to remove myself from the ongoing conversation & set the record straight for the sake of everyone involved," Turnbull concluded.

There were also reports that Brooklyn's wife Nicola Peltz, 30, claimed that she felt uncomfortable around Turnbull. The rumours of a rift between the family intensified as Brooklyn and Nicola were no shows at any of David's 50th birthday celebrations last month.
