How Dakota Johnson is coping with Chris Martin breakup

Dakota Johnson is said to be "doing well" after her split from Chris Martin.

A source close to the actress, 35, revealed to People Magazine that "the split wasn't exactly a shock" as the pair "had the same issues for a while."

"She wants to live her life very intentionally — she doesn’t want to have any regrets," the source said of the Fifty Shades star.

"She loves all her creative projects and is excited about her career. She believes there is more to life than work though. She wants a meaningful life on all levels."

The update comes after nearly three weeks passed since the former lovers reportedly broke off their engagement and nearly eight-year relationship.

The pair initially sparked engagement rumours in 2020. Johnson is starring in Materialists, which hit theaters on June 13. Her next film, Splitsville, premieres Aug. 22.

Meanwhile, Martin, 48, will resume his world tour with Coldplay in Toronto on July 7.
