Lewis Capaldi, a Scottish singer-songwriter and musician, has made his comeback to music and touring after a two-year battle with Tourette's syndrome.
His new song, Survive, is an emotional song addresses his mental health struggles with Tourette’s syndrome. It includes heart breaking lyrics, “Most nights I fear that I’m not enough/I’ve had my share of Monday mornings when I can’t get up. I swear to God I’ll survive, if it kills me to/I’m gonna get up and try, if it’s the last thing I’ll do.” (sic)
Since his announcement on Instagram, fans have responded with enthusiasm and best wishes, one commented, “God said "Let there be light" and he gave us our Lewis Capaldi back. Id be lying if I didn't say I wasn't crying. You have been so missed. I love you!!.”
Another fan shared, “Wow I didn't plan on starting my day with tears , but wow , your lyrics never disappoint incredibly happy you are ready to be back for a bit.”
For those unversed, back in 2023, Capaldi experienced uncontrollable tics caused by Tourette's syndrome while he was singing “Someone You Loved” at Glastonbury. The crowd then took over and sang the remaining song for him.
Soon after, the singer announced break from music to prioritize his mental and physical health, he said, “I want to make absolutely sure I’m 100% before getting back out there again properly for more shows and doing what I love more than anything!”
