The Devil Wears Prada sequel is officially in production nearly 20 years after the first film.
20th Century Studios confirmed on Monday that the sequel is in production.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2. Now in production,” the studio wrote alongside an Instagram video, featuring the film's signature red stiletto heels.
The sequel will see Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt reprise their roles from the 2006 hit Kenneth Branagh also joins the cast as the husband to magazine editor Miranda Priestly, played by Streep.
The sequel previously set a release date of May 1, 2026, multiple outlets confirmed earlier this year.
While plot details remain under wraps, Blunt recently told Entertainment Tonight she hasn’t seen the script yet but joked about her onscreen dynamic with Streep. "Why are Meryl and I so mean to each other in every movie we do?”
"We always have beef with each other. I don’t know what it is. Let’s hope we remedy it. I’m not sure," added Blunt, who has costarred with Streep in Into the Woods and Mary Poppins Returns.
