Meghan Markle’s newly launched As Ever, Rosé may have sold out in under an hour, however, an expert has claimed that it may have more to do with marketing strategy than mass demand.

Speaking with The Express, PR expert Edward Coram James that the Duchess of Sussex most likely released limited quantities of her products to help create a sense of exclusivity.

He noted that the wine bottle of Meghan's brand was priced £22 and sold only in sets of three, adding that creating a sense of urgency is a classic tactic to boost the brand value.

James went on to add how the wine itself wasn’t unique but “just another nice rosé” rather than a groundbreaking product.

"Meghan has very limited amounts of her products. She sold out her rosé in just an hour, and let’s be honest, this isn’t Glastonbury or some once-in-a-lifetime event," he said.

"It’s just another nice rosé, not exactly groundbreaking or revolutionary, no offence to her!

"Yes, she has loyal fans and plenty of people who follow her every move, but you can’t even buy just one bottle; it’s a minimum of three.

"That tells me the buyers are a pretty specific demographic, making it unlikely that she released huge quantities in the first place."
