Ozzy Osbourne, a renowned heavy metal star known for his stage name, the Prince of Darkness, has passed away at 76.

His family in a statement shared, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning."

"He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time," it read.

The British artist, who is a member of heavy metal band Black Sabbath and was born in Marston Green, a village in England, has suffered from Parkinson's as well as other health complications.

His death comes just weeks after he took to the stage with his bandmates, which was billed to be his farewell to his career at Villa Park after he was forced to cancel shows due to declining health.

Given his long career, Ozzy has delivered many hits including Iron Man, Paranoid, War Pigs, Crazy Train, and Changes.

In addition to this, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame and the US Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as one on Birmingham's Broad Street, marking notable career milestones.

Sharon Osbourne, the wife of Ozzy, tied the knot with him in 1982. They share three kids. He also has two kids from his first marriage to Thelma Riley.
