Here’s a look at some of the notable Hollywood stars who breathed their last this year:

Udo Kier

Udo Kier, who was born on October 14, 1944, appeared in 200 movies across Hollywood and European cinema.

The late German actor most recently appeared in Kleber Mendonça Filho’s movie, The Secret Agent, marking his final movie role before his death.

Udo died on November 23 in hospital in Palm Springs, California at age 81. No cause of death has been reported yet.

Diane Keaton

Diane Keaton, who was born on January 5, 1946, rose to fame for her exceptional roles in Annie Hall, The Godfather, The First Wives Club, and many others.

The late actress passed away on October 11 in Los Angeles due to pneumonia. She was 79.

Robert Redford

Hollywood golden boy Robert Redford, who was born on August 18, 1983, was famous for his amazing movies including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Way We Were and All the President’s Men.

The late actor made a mark in the industry after earning an Academy Award for directing Ordinary People.

Robert died in his sleep on September 16. He was 89.

No foul play is suspected at this time and an investigation is ongoing, per AP.

Michelle Trachtenberg

Michelle Trachtenberg, who was born on October 11, 1985, began as a child performer. She eventually found success after Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl shows.

The late actress was found dead on February 26 at her home in New York City. She was 39.

Val Kilmer

He died on July 2 after a battle with cancer. He was 56.

Michael Madsen

He passed away on August 7 after battling with cancer. Brandon was 48.

Diane Ladd

Laura Dern’s mother Diane Ladd, who was born on November 29, 1935, was a Golden Globe-winning actress, best known for roles in Rambling Rose as well as Wild at Heart.

Diane died of acute on chronic hypoxic respiratory failure on November 3, per PEOPLE report.

Jonathan Joss
