A 'Harry Potter' reboot is inevitable, says Daniel Radcliffe

“It’ll be interesting if they reboot them and just do the films again or do a series; I’m fascinated to watch,”, says Daniel Radcliffe.

Actor Daniel Radcliffe recently said he would not be surprised if a Harry Potter reboot happens, be it a TV show or new adaptations of J.K. Rowling's books, at some point.

In an interview with game and entertainment website, IGN, the 29-year-old actor said: “I’m sure there will be some other version of it; I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’m gonna see in my lifetime,” he said, referring to the Jamie Parker and Gareth Reeves who have also played the role on stage in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Radcliffe, who spent 10 years playing the bespectacled boy wizard, went on to say: “It will be interesting to see how long those films stay — it feels like there’s a sacredness around them at the moment, but that’ll go… the shine will wear off at some point.”

If a reboot were to happen, Radcliffe said he wouldn’t begrudge the decision. “It’ll be interesting if they reboot them and just do the films again or do a series; I’m fascinated to watch,” he said.

While he might think a Harry Potter reboot is inevitable, Radcliffe said it was unlikely that he would make a return to the magical world anytime soon.

“To a certain extent with things like the play and Fantastic Beasts, I think people are still interested in talking to me about it, but nothing’s been happening in that area,” he told E! News in May 2018. “At the moment, I’m very much enjoying playing lots of different stuff.”

In an earlier interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Radcliffe said he wouldn’t mind returning but did not make any promises.

“I’m never going to close that door but I think I’ll be happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it,” he had said at the time.

Radcliffe can next be seen in Miracle Workers playing a low-level angel who must convince God (Steve Buscemi) to let human beings live.
