Keanu Reeves has joined hands with the Sonic creators to voice the mysterious and infamous character of Shadow.

Following the recent CinemaCon which offered an exclusive look at Sonic 3 with a fresh glimpse on Sonic and Shadow’s characters (without voice), The Hollywood Reporter has claimed that the Matrix star will be joining the voice cast of the beloved franchise.

After nurturing a fan base with his action packed sequence in John Wick, Reeves is now reportedly moving to an animated world to bring more intensity and action to the storyline and lend his voice to a complex character, an anti-hero.

Now as the production begins for the third installment in the saga, the 59-year-old actor’s addition in it ahas added another layer of intrigue to the franchise, stirring excitement among fans to see the magic unfold.

Nonetheless, apart from the celebrated addition of Reeves, other members from the original casting would also return to reprise their roles including Jim Carrey, who voices Dr. Eggman.

Other cast members include Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Idris Elba as Knuckles, Colleen O'Shaughnessy as Tails and a few other names such as James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Lee Majdoub and Adam Pally.
