Jon Bon Jovi finally broke silence on his vocal cord issues which led to a major reconstructive surgery.

The singer has opened up about his voice issues in a new Hulu docuseries Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, where he detailed the vocal problem that arose during the band’s 2022 tour.

Suggesting that one of his vocal cords has atrophied, the songwriter then announced undergoing a major medialization surgery. However, it is now that the 62-year-old guitarist revealed how he learned about the tragedy.

Speaking to People magazine, Jon revealed that it was his wife who shared the bitter truth. “I gave my heart to that crowd. I thought it went well”, he said of the 2022 Nashville show.

But her wife had said otherwise, suggesting that it wasn’t the best of his performance, which the father of four had described as a “beyond heartbreaking” conversation.

“It was devastating, but there’s no one better than her to tell me the truth”, he added accepting the truth that he might not be able to do “a hundred-show tour” anymore.

Despite the scrutiny, Jon didn’t lose hope and after working with vocal coaches, he is set to make his comeback with his 16th album, Forever to be released in June.

“The thing that gave me so much pleasure had been taken away. Joy is something you got to work at, right?”, he said as he channeled this energy into his upcoming album and noted that it “is really about my finding joy again”.
