Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan has bagged her first nomination at the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The actress, almost 39, received her first solo Screen Actors Guild Awards nomination on Wednesday for playing Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton.

Bridgerton also earned a nomination for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series—a nod the cast previously received in 2021.

“This is a very lovely early birthday present!” Coughlan wrote on Instagram on Wednesday of her outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series nomination.

“I’m absolutely in shock and so honoured thank you @sagawards and so proud of the whole @bridgertonnetflix family,” she concluded.

Besides Coughlan, Kathy Bates from Matlock, Allison Janney from The Diplomat, Keri Russell from The Diplomat, and Anna Sawai from Shōgun also received a nomination in SAG’s outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series category.

Sawai recently earned a Golden Globe for her performance in the Hulu series on Sunday.

Coughlan's nomination follows her lead role in the third season of Bridgerton in which she starred alongside Luke Newton's character Colin Bridgerton.
