Jay-Z, who has been accused of raping a teenager in 2000, has sought his dismissal in the lawsuit.
For the unversed, the rapper has been accused of drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl identified only as "Jane Doe", along with Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000 at an MTV Video Music Awards after party.
Calling the allegation “heinous” last month, Carter had said that he would vigorously defend himself against an “idiotic” attempt at blackmail.
Now, the rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter, through his lawyer, filed a new motion to dismiss the lawsuit, highlighting what they claim are impossibilities and inconsistencies in the accuser’s account.
In the lawsuit, Carter’s attorney shed light on an interview the accuser, who gave interview to NBC News last December.
During the interview, Doe admitted to “making some mistakes” in aspects of her story.
Moreover, the 55-year-old rapper’s lawyers are also seeking to have U.S District Judge Analisa Torres impose a monetary sanction on the accuser’s lawyer Tony Buzbee, claiming that he failed to properly vet the woman’s story before filing the highly explosive case.
The request for dismissal and actions follows Comb’s uncompromising denials and escalating war against Buzbee, who claims to represent more than 120 clients who wish to bring cases against Jay-Z.
