Meghan Markle opened up about financial fears as she highlighted how women are made to feel guilty about having or wanting more money.
The Duchess of Sussex expressed her fears in the final episode of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder while speaking with Spanx founder Sara Blakely.
Prince Harry’s wife said that women are often taught not to talk about finances, admitting that she sometimes feels like she will never have enough.
"So many women, especially, we’re taught to not even talk about money. And there’s lots of guilt mentality surrounding having a lot,” said Meghan.
She noted that that it’s all too "easy" to believe financial security is out of reach, adding, "And at the same time, there’s a scarcity mindset that it’s easy to attach to, of like 'I’ll never have enough.’”
To this, Sara talked about her own journey on how she started Spanx from scratch while working as a fax machine salesperson.
Elsewhere in the interview, Meghan also spoke about being pregnant with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
"I mean, I gained 65 pounds with both pregnancies. A friend just said to me the other day, they were like, ‘I just saw this picture I’d forgotten about when you were so pregnant with Archie,’” she said.
The Duchess continued, "I always wear my five-inch, pointy-toed stilettos. You have the most enormous bump and your tiny little ankles are bracing themselves in these high heels. But all my weight was in the front...”
