Buckingham Palace: Royal omission of Diana meets tragic fate

Buckingham Palace's recent social media post about King Charles and Queen Camilla's visit to Canada reminded some people of Princess Diana who had once accompanied Charles to the country.

Ironically, the visit she undertook with Charles as his wife was mentioned in the royal family's Instagram post but without Diana's name in it.

In a series of pictures and captions showcasing King Charles' previous visits,  a photo from 1983 showed Charles giving a speech at the World University Games in Edmonton. But, the caption failed to mention that Diana was accompanying him during that visit.

It was the visit during which he was accompanied by Lady Dina, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.

Notably, the social media team of the royal family chose a solo picture of the monarch and decided not to mention that Diana was also with him during the visit.

According to details, their first trip to Canada was an 18-day tour of the Maritime provinces, where they received an enthusiastic welcome. The the Prince and Princess of Wales also opened the World University Games in Edmonton.

This omission came just a couple of days before a tragic incident which saw Princess Diana's former home go in flames in what investigators see as an arson attack.

A fire broke out at Dallington Grange farmhouse, part of the Althorp House estate where Diana grew up.

The blaze, which was deliberately started, has left the two-story building severely damaged.

Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, expressed his sadness over the incident, calling it "so very sad that anyone would think this a fun thing to do."

The connection between these two incidents lies in the enduring impact of Princess Diana's life and legacy.

Her fans and the general public seem to be drawing parallels between the royal family's omission of her name from their social media post and the unfortunate incident at her former home.

While the royal family's intentions behind not mentioning Diana's name are unclear, the Instagram post has certainly reignited discussions about her place in the royal family's history.
