Prince Harry has landed in yet another controversy for creating a new team that mirrors that Royal system he left behind and later criticised.
Harry and Meghan Markle, who stepped down as senior royals in 2020, have hired 11 senior staff members, including a top communications strategist Meredith Kendall Maines, with some reportedly earning high salaries.
Experts have dubbed the Duke of Sussex a “hypocrite,” pointing out how he has previously spoken out against the Royal household and its staff.
According to Radar Online, Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said it’s surprising that Harry has now chosen a similar setup after bashing it following Megxit.
"The hypocrisy lies in the fact that Harry has, especially in his most recent interview, attacked courtiers and the Royal Household, considering them enemies,” he told the publication.
The expert added, “So it is extremely surprising that he should want a similar structure in Montecito.
"In (Harry's memoir) Spare, he excoriated senior courtiers. He, as his mother (Princess Diana) did, regards them as the enemy,” he said, referring to Harry’s bombshell autobiography, Spare, in which he detailed his life in the palace.
Fitzwilliams continued, "Ironically, it's what he wants for himself and his family. He also claimed courtiers or their equivalent used security as a lever to prevent them from stepping down as senior working royals."
"So the 'Montecito model' better be different, and they would be wise to pay attention to its advice," he added.
According to another royal expert, Charlotte Griffiths, Harry decided to make changes and restructure his team after realizing that "anything Hollywood and American basically hasn't worked for him."
"So apparently Harry has looked at the latest polls that put him down at 27%, and he's upset by it,” she told GB News.
The expert further cited a source, saying they told her that the Duke of Sussex has “realised there's nowhere to go but up."
"So what he's done is he's decided what hasn't been working. And that's the US, Hollywood PR agents.
“Just anything Hollywood and American basically hasn't worked for him.”
