Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s daughters Princess Beatrice and Eugenie are being "kept on ice" ahead of a significant change to the monarchy when Prince William becomes King.

King Charles plans for his nieces Eugenie and Beatrice have been disclosed by royal expert Ingrid Seward.

She tells Hello, "Having slimmed down the monarchy, I don't think he [King Charles] will change his mind, so I think he will leave it to William to bring them into the fold. I think they're being kept on ice.”

The royal expert continued, "When William ascends the throne, Beatrice and Eugenie will be valuable assets, and I'm certain they will get involved with royal duties. It makes perfect sense, because he will need them.

"I think they would be open to doing more, because they like to give back. They have always been close to William, and the King is very fond of them too.”

However, a palace insider and friend of the sisters told the Daily Beast last year Beatrice and Eugenie were upset they weren’t “being used at all” as they wanted to “be of service”.

“They are very upset to have been ignored by the King as they feel they have a lot to offer, but ultimately not surprised,” the insider claimed at the time, per the Woman’s Day.

Meanwhile, the Hello recently also reported, citing the insider, "They both believe in the institution and what the Royal Family represents, and have always been willing to do their bit and support it if they can.

"They're fond of their cousins, and that sense of duty is something they believe in. Despite having commercial careers, to their credit, they haven't put a foot wrong.”

The source added, “It's always difficult for members of the family who are half-out, but they have done it blamelessly."
