King Charles has apparently rejected his abdication rumours with latest appearance at Trooping the Colour amid his health worries.
Speaking to the media, per OK! Magazine, King Charles' former butler Grant Harrold, on behalf of Slingo, claims "Charles looked more confident than any of the royals."
The expert continued, "There will be less pressure for him because he’s done this so many times before. He’s doing the job he’s been trained to do."
According to the New York Post, the 2025 Trooping the Colour comes at a moment when the British monarchy is in desperate need of a show of strength.
The report, citing the insider, says “It’s a show of strength. The King is serving his country, and he’s not going to let a diagnosis get in the way of that.”
It added the monarch also insisted on a hands-on approach in planning this year’s event, with some help from the future King, Prince William — underscoring the pressures of succession and maintaining public confidence in the monarchy.
“For the King, Trooping has always been important,” Grant Harrold also tells The Post. “It’s when all the royal family get together to show a united front.”
The report continued since announcing his cancer diagnosis in February 2024, King Charles has been receiving weekly outpatient treatment at the London Clinic.
